Everything here is my own experience and opinion, shared for general information. It isn't legal, financial, tax, accounting, engineering, safety, insurance or IT advice, and reading it doesn't create any professional relationship.

Check with your own professionals before you change how your business handles contracts, money, data, people or safety.

Don't put passwords, bank or card numbers, employee personal information, anything a customer or builder would want kept private, or your pricing into an AI tool unless you know your setup protects it and your company allows it. When in doubt, take the names and numbers out first.

Every AI provider has its own terms of service and data policies, and they change. Read them, and follow your employer's policies, before you put any work information into an AI tool.

Check every output, especially numbers, contracts, specs and anything that goes to a customer. You're responsible for what you send.

I take out or change names, prices and details that could identify a person, customer or company I work with. The stories are real, and the time I got back is my own honest count. Yours will be different.

What I write doesn't speak for any company I work for or with.

Tools, features and policies change fast. What I describe was accurate when I wrote it and may not be later.

Nobody pays me to mention their product, and I don't use affiliate links. If that ever changes, I'll say so right in the post, not just here. Product names belong to the companies that make them. None of them sponsor me or have any say in what I write.

The signup box on this site is Substack's too. This site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Cloudflare says it doesn't use cookies. I don't add any other tracking. If you email me, I only use your address to write back. Every Tuesday email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email me anytime to ask what I have or to have it deleted.
